About Dauphin Island
Dauphin Island is a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico and a town in Mobile Alabama. Spanish explorers mapped the island in 1519 and French settlers explored the island in 1699. The island is the home of a bird sanctuary where birds come when migrating, it is also where the 1st Mardi Gras parade of the year is held and the largest fishing rodeo in the United States. This is not a commercialized beach community. Dauphin Island is a quiet, relaxing, outdoors man’s paradise. If you have never been to this beautiful island plan a trip and see sunsets like you thought were only in paintings.
